DPPI launches new training coursesDPPi will pilot new training sessions from October 2005. The courses, to be held at the National Centre for Disabled Parents in north London, will begin with the following: Introduction to disabled parenting: an overviewThis half-day course is intended to provide a valuable insight into disabled parenting for occupational therapists, midwives, health visitors, parenting organisations and others working with disabled parents. One-handed parentingThis full-day practical course is primarily aimed at occupational therapists but would be useful to all health professionals involved with disabled parents with children up to 18 months. The new training programme will be an extension of the work currently carried out by DPPi at the National Centre for Disabled Parents. We offer a national UK enquiry service and range of publications on disabled parenting, available in a choice of formats. We see visitors by appointment at the resource centre, which houses a unique collection of equipment and publications, and are able to provide speakers, trainers and workshop leaders to facilitate events.
