A feature on parenting with epilepsy begins with two personal accounts by mothers. They include particular, but different, challenges and views. The first relates to the varying attitudes of family, friends and social workers towards a parent with epilepsy. The second calls for more and longer-term research into the effects on children of medication taken in pregnancy. Mothers in mind, a campaign in the UK that urges health professionals to work in partnership with women with epilepsy who want to start a family, is also described.
