Knowledge helps to empower and allow informed choice. In this issue a mother writes about the difficulties of finding information to enable her to make decisions about pregnancy and breastfeeding. She describes how she felt pressurised by healthcare professionals who did not listen to her.
Another mother writes about the practical and attitudinal challenges she faced with her local maternity services. But she is pleased that lessons were learned from her experience, and precedents set for future care.

Their knowledge and experiences are invaluable to other parents and to the healthcare professionals who aim to support them. Sharing this knowledge is vital.
