DPPI seeks disabled parents' views on joint protocols
Disability, Pregnancy and Parenthood International (DPPI) is seeking out the views and experiences of disabled parents who have experienced a needs assessment by social services operating a joint protocol between children and adult services, for an article in our quarterly journal.
We want to know:
- How was the needs assessment carried out and who was involved?
- What was your experience of social workers from children and adult teams working together on the assessment?
- How did the joint protocol affect the service provision you were offered as a disabled parent?
- Do you feel the joint protocol has benefited you as a disabled parent? If so, in what ways?
- Do you feel social services still need to work further to make joint working truly effective? If so, what would you like to see happening?
We are particularly interested in hearing from disabled parents from Wiltshire, Kingston, Suffolk and Norfolk, areas which operate universal joint protocols covering all disabled parents. We would also welcome information on other authorities who have developed such joint protocols for disabled parents.
There are two ways you can get involved:
- Email your comments for inclusion in the article (please make it clear which authority you are commenting on).
- Contact Shanta Everington on 0800 018 4730 or by email to arrange a telephone interview to gather your input into the article.
Comments are needed by Monday 21st September 2009.
We look forward to hearing from you.
