National Centre for Disabled Parents

The National Centre for Disabled Parents has been home to DPPi and Disabled Parents Network (DPN) since 2001. It brings together, and forms a base for, the services that our two disabled parenting organisations provide.

The Centre offers:

Resource Centre

The Resource Centre houses a growing collection of resources relevant to parenting where a person has a disability. Disabled people or professional allies are welcome to visit and find out about resources.

The Resource Centre includes:

• books, articles, reports, newsletters and information sheets
• video, audio-cassette and CD resources
• small items of baby-care equipment for people to try out
• access to the DPPi resource database.

Information Officers or are available to help visitors find the information or equipment they need or discuss issues.

• DPPi Information Service and International Journal
• The Disabled Parents Network Contact Register and DPN Parentline You can find out more about these by visiting the DPN website: www.DisabledParentsNetwork.org.uk
• Awareness Raising and Consultation services. The Centre can provide speakers, trainers and workshop leaders to assist with conferences, training, exhibitions and public events. DPPi and DPN staff and volunteers have a great deal of expertise and are happy to be consulted on issues which concern disabled parents.
